I love creating tactile forms that feel nice to hold - embracing the beautiful imperfections created when making by hand.

I've collected pebbles, seashells and driftwood since I was a child - the organic textures and sensual forms inspire me. Barnacles, indents carved out by the rhythm of the sea, smooth, weathered surfaces, broken edges of Autumn leaves, the repetition and order of the scales on a pine cone.

Each of my pieces is unique - sometimes hand built, sometimes thrown and altered. It's important to me that each piece of work has its own identity created through an intuitive making process. Allowing evidence of the journey, embracing the touch of the makers hand to strengthen the connection between the maker and the audience.

I enjoy working with textured and marbled clays - embracing their natural colours and surfaces - using slip and oxides to elevate the beautiful textures.
